Math
We will begin a new chapter: Chapter
9. We will focus on lessons 1-4 next
week. Homework will become almost nightly. Please be checking that has been
done. Late slips will be written if it is not done, which will lower student’s
grades.
Spelling
The
pretest will be on Monday and the final test will be on Friday. If your child
gets 0, 1, or 2 wrong they will be challenge and have two activities. If they
get more than do they will have the regular work.
Reading
We will be starting a new
basil story called, Two Days in May. We will be listening to the story and
working with the story while doing Daily 5.
English
We will begin unit 5 next
week. We will focus on lessons 1-3.
Social Studies
We will be continuing to learn about Chicago.
Science
We will be doing a great space
project. Students have been assigned a planet and a partner and are doing
research to recreate the planet. The Space test will be on Tuesday 4/15.

block to continue learning about Chicago. We will focus this week on the

Students have been recreating
their biography person this week and they will give a one minute speech about their
person. The leprechaun final essays are due on Monday.

We will be continuing to learn about Chicago.
Science
We have started our space unit
and we will be focusing on lesson 3 planets this week.

All third grade will be watching "Despicable Me" on Friday in celebration of ISATS. It is rated PG. Please email me if there is a problem with you child watching this movie.

by 12’s test will be on Friday. 3/14. Please be reviewing these facts
because they are usually the hardest for students.

We will continue preparing for
our last Reading ISAT. We will also be doing a leprechaun trap project.
Students will be creating a trap to catch a leprechaun. The trap will be due at school on Friday 3-14. We will then
be writing how and why we built the trap that we did.
English
We started our biography unit.
Students will continue to work on making a snapshot photo album of their person
as well as a poster about their person.
Social Studies
We have started Chicago! We have learned about the history of Chicago and the
lakes and rivers. We will continue to learn about the first settlers and the
railroad systems.
Science
We will start our chapter 10 Space
unit this week. We will begin with lesson 1.
