February 11-14

Image result for valentines dayOur Valentine’s Day party will
be on Thursday. Thank you in advance
to my wonderful parent volunteers
for running the “show” and to those
who are sending in treats and supplies.
The kids will have a ball!!
We’ll be distributing our Valentines earlier that day.
It is easiest if the students only
write their name on the cards and not the "To" part.
That way we can distribute them
quicker. If they really want to though, they can!

Today I am introducing the Culture Day project to the children. Their
homework for the weekend will be to choose the country they’d like to
research.  It should be connected to your family’s culture.
Please make sure your child writes it in their
assignment notebook for Monday.

Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling: The due date for menu and test is Thursday, 2/14.

Reading & Language Arts:  This week we’ll be starting our Culture Day
research project.  It involves researching various aspects of a country,
creating a book, and sharing an oral presentation on your country.
More details will be shared as we march on through February.

Social Science: We will continue our Science curriculum, “Amplify.”

Our Unit 3 Immigration test will be on Wednesday, 2/13.
The study guide has gone home in addition to a textbook.
The study guide will be due back on Tuesday,
2/12. Please work with your child over the weekend
on this study guide.
It will help them prepare for the test!

Mrs. Mandru's Math Class:  This week we begin Unit 5,
Multiplication, Division, and Area.
We’ll focus on multiplication and division this week.
