Week of January 27-31

Please continue to sign your child's assignment books.

Our in class Spelling Bee will be on Monday. The winners of the class spelling bee will then be entered into the 3^rd grade bee.

Math
We will work with dividing and multiplying by 6’s this week. The 6’s test will be on Friday, 31st.

Spelling
We will be on List 17 this week. The Pretest is on Monday and the final test will be on Friday. If your child gets 0,1, or 2 wrong on the pretest they will have 2  challenge activities and the cursive sheet, they have the option to take the test on Friday. If they get more than 2 words wrong, they will have the regular work. (Cursive sheet and two assigned activities)  The homework is due on Thursday.

Reading
We will be doing guided reading groups this week in correlation with Daily 5.

English
We will finish up unit 4-adjectives. The final test will be on Friday, January 31^st.  

Social Studies
We will be working on Lesson 3 of chapter 3 culture. Students will be presenting about their culture to the class on either January 30 or February 3. (If they were on Friday, it was moved to Monday the 3rd.

Science
We will focus on lesson 3 of chapter 12 this week.  The final test for chapter 12 will be on Wednesday. January 29^th.

MathWe will work with dividing and multiplying by 4’s this week. The 4’s test will be on Friday, 24^th.
 

SpellingWe will be on List 16 this week. The Pretest is on Tuesday and the final test will be on Friday. If your child gets 0,1, or 2 wrong on the pretest they will have 1  challenge activity and the cursive sheet, they have the option to take the test on Friday. If they get more than 2 words wrong, they will have the regular work. (Cursive sheet and two assigned activities)  The homework is due on Thursday.

EnglishWe have started unit 4-Adjectives. We will be working with lessons 4-6 this week.
 

Social Studies We will be working on Lesson 2 of chapter 3 culture. Students will be presenting about their culture to the class on either January 30 or 31. Please be working on that at home with your child.
 

ScienceWe will focus on lesson 2 of chapter 12 this week.

Students have received a google account for in school activities and working on things at home. Please practice logging in with your child onto google and then into drive. Any questions please feel free to email me. 

Week of January 13-17

Early Dismissal on Wednesday, January 15th at 11:00.


We will have MAP’s testing for Reading on Tuesday, January 14 at 8:05. Please make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast that week so they are prepared for the test.

We will continue our Christmas around the world unit. There will be in class presentations on Thursday.  

English
We have started unit 4-Adjectives. We will be working with lessons 1-3.

Social Studies
We are starting a new chapter: chapter 3-Culture. Students will be presenting about their culture to the class on either January 30 or 31. They will receive a planning sheet on Monday and it will be due on Friday. I will check their planning sheet on Thursday; after I check them and approve them they can start working on their project. A sheet will go home on Thursday explaining the project.

Science
We have started Chapter 12-energy. Next week we will finish lesson 1 and start lesson 2. If possible please have your child bring in a magazine that does not need to be returned on Tuesday.
