Week of February 23-27



Important:
Please continue to sign your child's assignment books.
Thank you to those of you who have donated to the treasure chest! We really appreciate it! If you would like to donate extra toys/goodies from home to our treasure chest; that would be greatly appreciate it!



PARCC testing will begin on Monday, March 2 and Wednesday, March 4th. We will be taking two Math tests. Then on March 9, 11, 13 we will be taking 3 ELA tests.

Spelling:  The pretest will be on Monday and the final test will be on Friday. If your child gets 0, 1, or 2 wrong they will be challenge and have 2 activities and cursive. If they get more than do they will have the regular work. All homework is due on Friday.

ELA:  We will continue our Traditions unit. We will be reading Matchbox Diary and focusing on dialogue. We will also work in small groups learning about adverbs.

Social Studies:  We will continue with Chapter 3 culture. We will read lesson 3 immigration.

Science: We will be reading lesson 3 of chapter 11 this week. The matter test will be on Tuesday, March 3.
Math Class (Only for students in MY MATH CLASS):  Chapter 8 test is Thursday, February 26th. The X8 test is Friday, February 27th.

Week of February 9-12

Spring conferences are coming up the week of February 9.  Please email me if you forgot your time!

Half day Wednesday 2/11. Students are dismissed at 11:00

Valentine’s day Party 2/12. The party starts at 1:30. Please have students bring in a valentine to share with the class.

ELA:  We will continue our Traditions unit. We will continue reading The Tooth on a Roof story and making connections this week. We will also work in small groups.
Social Studies:  We have started our culture unit: chapter 3. Students will be present about their culture! I can’t wait to hear all about them. Presentations are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!

Science: We will be taking a break from Science to share our culture day projects.
Math Class (Only for students in MY MATH CLASS):  We will start chapter 8 this week and have our x7 test Thursday!
