Week of March 23-27

This is our last week before spring break!

Spelling:   The pretest will be on Monday and the final test will be on Friday. If your child gets 0, 1, or 2 wrong they will be challenge and have 2 activities and cursive. If they get more than do they will have the regular work. All homework is due on Friday.

ELA:  We will continue Unit 3: Folktales and fairy tales. We will be close reading Mulan this week. In addition we will be working on our autobiographies.

Social Studies:  Our chapter 3 culture test will be on Wednesday 3/25.

Science: We will start chapter 10 lesson 2 on planets this week.

Math Class (Only for students in MY MATH CLASS):  We will have our chapter 10 fractions test on Friday 3/27. It is a shorter chapter that will continue with fractions  The X11 test will also be on Friday.

March 16-20

Science: We have started our space unit! We will be working on lesson 1 this week.

Math Class (Only for students in MY MATH CLASS):  We will have our chapter 9 fractions test on Wednesday, March 18. The X10 test will be on Friday.

We will continue PARCC testing this week. The tests will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Spelling: There will be no spelling this week.

ELA:  We will wrap up our traditions unit this week. We have also started autobiographies and will continue to work on those this week in small groups.

Social Studies:  We will start chapter 3 lesson 4 this week, learning more about immigration and culture.

Science: We will begin a new unit. Chapter 10 SPACE! This is always a very exciting unit for the students!

Math Class (Only for students in MY MATH CLASS):  We will continue working on fractions this week. The chapter 9 test is tentatively scheduled for March 17th.

Week of March 2-6

PARCC testing will begin on Monday, March 2 and Wednesday, March 4th. We will be taking two Math tests. Then on March 9, 11, 13 we will be taking 3 ELA tests.

Spelling: There will be no spelling this week.

ELA:  We will continue our Traditions unit. We will be finishing our story Matchbox Diary. We will also be working in our groups working on comparing adverbs and using yo,too, and two.

Social Studies:  We will continue with Chapter 3 culture. We will be finishing up with lesson 3.

Science: We will be reading lesson 3 of chapter 11 this week. The matter test will be on Thursday, March 5.

Math Class (Only for students in MY MATH CLASS):  We will begin chapter 9-fractions this week. There will be no timed test this week.

Math Class (Only for students in MY MATH CLASS):  Chapter 8 test is Thursday, February 26th. The X8 test is Friday, February 27th.

Valentine’s day Party 2/12. The party starts at 1:30. Please have students bring in a valentine to share with the class.

Social Studies:  We have started our culture unit: chapter 3. Students will be present about their culture! I can’t wait to hear all about them. Presentations are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!

Science: We will be taking a break from Science to share our culture day projects.

Math Class (Only for students in MY MATH CLASS):  We will start chapter 8 this week and have our x7 test Thursday!
