Week of January 13-17

Important:

Welcome Back and happy New Year!

Early Dismissal on Wednesday, January 15th at 11:00.


We will have MAP’s testing for Reading on Tuesday, January 14 at 8:05. Please make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast that week so they are prepared for the test.

Please continue to sign your child's assignment books.

Math
We will work with dividing and multiplying by 3’s this week. The 3’s test will be on Friday, 17^th.

Spelling
We will be on List 15 this week. The Pretest is on Monday and the final test will be on Friday. If your child gets 0,1, or 2 wrong on the pretest they will have 2  challenge activities and the cursive sheet, they have the option to take the test on Friday. If they get more than 2 words wrong, they will have the regular work. (Cursive sheet and two assigned activities)  The homework is due on Thursday.

Reading
We will continue our Christmas around the world unit. There will be in class presentations on Thursday.  

English
We have started unit 4-Adjectives. We will be working with lessons 1-3.

Social Studies
We are starting a new chapter: chapter 3-Culture. Students will be presenting about their culture to the class on either January 30 or 31. They will receive a planning sheet on Monday and it will be due on Friday. I will check their planning sheet on Thursday; after I check them and approve them they can start working on their project. A sheet will go home on Thursday explaining the project.

Science
We have started Chapter 12-energy. Next week we will finish lesson 1 and start lesson 2. If possible please have your child bring in a magazine that does not need to be returned on Tuesday.
