Math
In Math this week, we will be finishing chapter 4-Subtraction. We will work all week on subrtracting numbers and across zeros. The final test will be on Friday, November 2, 2012. A study guide will go home next week, but  a great way to practice would be pages 98 and 101 in there textbooks at home.

Reading:
Our class will continue identifying cause and effect using our IPICK books and our small reading group selections.
Spelling
We will be switching things up for Spelling this week. The students will be tested on Halloween words. There will be a pretest on Monday and if they get 0, 1, or 2 worng, they will not have to take the test on Friday. There will be no challenge words due to the fact that they are Halloween words. A packet will go home on Monday that will replace the usual Spelling homework. The homework will be due on Friday, since Halloween is Wednesday, along with the final test.

We are finishing up our descriptive writing unit on the haunted house stories. The stories are look Spook-a-rific already! The final draft will be due on Tuesday, if your child has not already turned it in. Friday will be the pretest for unit 2-nouns.
