Week of May 6-May 10!

Time is flying by…We are already in the second week of MAY!
Thursday we have our Wheel of Wisdom assembly!

Thank you for donating to the treasure chest! We have been running low, if you would like to donate treasures, please feel free to send them in whenever.

For the next two weeks, our school will be collecting any used books for our book angels drive.  Please bring them in between 5/6-5-17.

Math:
We are having our Chapter 15 checkpoint on Monday, 5/6. We will then be starting chapter 14. This will be a review chapter so we will have another checkpoint on Friday 5/10. We will also be working on dividing by 10's. The test for this will be Friday 5/10.

Reading: 
We will be finishing up our Poetry unit this week. There will be a vocabulary quiz on Wednesday 5/8 over the words that were handed out on Thursday. Throughout the week, students will be practicing reading poems. They will then pick out one of their favorite poems and on Friday 5/10, they will be reading their poem in front of the class for a grade. They should be practicing at home next week. The things that they will be graded on are: eye contact, volume, smooth delivery, clearly spoken. The rubric will go home on Tuesday. 

Spelling: 
We are all DONE with Spelling. WOO HOO!

English:
We will have our friendly letter test on Monday, 5/6. To study for this test, students should know the parts of a letter as well as how to correct an incorrect letter using DOL marks. 

Social Studies:
We will be finishing up our last third of the Chicago unit. The last Chicago quiz will be on Thursday 5/9. The study guide will go home on Monday and be due back on Wednesday. After Chicago, we will start our unit study on Egypt. 

Science:
We will be continuing with Chapter 1- getting ready for Science. We will be starting lesson 3.
