Week of April 29-May 3

We had a wonderful turn out at open house! It was great to see all the families and the students! I hope you had a great time seeing all the things we have accomplished!

Next week begins our last round of MAP’s testing. The Reading test will be on Tuesday at 8:05 and the Math test will be on Wednesday at 9:15. Please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast so they are ready for the tests.

We have started Junior Achievement. We have had the opportunity to have Mrs. M come to our class once a week to teach us all about our city.

Thank you for donating to the treasure chest! We have been running low, if you would like to donate treasures, please feel free to send them in whenever.

Math:
We will be having a test on chapter 14 on Wednesday, May 1. Students can study their packets over the weekend. Another great way to study is: draw various types of triangles and quadrilaterals and have your child name all the names for those figures. We will also be starting divide by 9’s. The test for divide by 9 will be Friday, May 3.

Reading:
We will be starting our poetry unit next week as well as finishing up writing our letters to the second graders. Students will get new poetry vocab words on Wednesday. There will be a vocab quiz the following week.

Spelling:
We are all DONE with Spelling. WOO HOO!

English:
We will be testing on unit 6: Pronouns on Friday May 3. A great study tool for this test is the text pages 232-235 and 241-247.

Social Studies:
We will be finishing up our last third of the Chicago unit.

Science:
We will be continuing with Chapter 1- getting ready for Science. We will finish up lesson 2 next week.
Have a Wonderful weekend!
