Week of November 18-22

Important:
Please continue to sign your child's assignment books.

If you would like to donate extra toys/goodies from home to our treasure chest; that would be greatly appreciated!

Early Dismissal Day: Wednesday, November 20 at 11:00.

DG field Trip Friday, November 22. Please have your child dress appropriately for the weather.

No school Wednesday, November 27-Friday, November 29 for Thanksgiving Break.


Math
We will begin our new unit, division. We will start by learning what division means and how we get our quotient. Then we will be relating division to subtraction. There will be no Math on Friday due to the DG field Trip.

Spelling
We will be on List 12 this week. The Pretest is on Monday and the final test will be on Friday. If your child gets 0,1, or 2 wrong on the pretest they will have 2 challenge activities and the cursive sheet, they have the option to take the test on Friday. If they get more than 2 words wrong, they will have the regular work. (Cursive sheet and two assigned activities)  The homework is due on Thursday.

Reading
We will start up again with our Daily 5 rotations. We will be reading a story call The Keeping Quilt and looking at author’s purpose. There will be a vocab quiz on the words from the story on Friday 11-22.

English
We will continue with unit 2-nouns. We will be focusing on lessons 6-8 this week. The final test on unit 2 nouns will be Tuesday 11-26-13.

Social Studies
We will have our Downers Grove history test on Tuesday 11/19. Our field trip for Downers Grove is scheduled for November 22.

Science
We will be finishing our Water Cycle unit in Science. Because of the early dismissal and the DG field and then Thanksgiving break, we will not start another unit in Science until after the break.
