Week Of September 5-9

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!  Thank you to all the parents who came out for Curriculum Night yesterday.  If you were unable to attend or would like to revisit our third grade slide presentation, here is the link:  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1l_n3sKS5JbBnEGyHQwQFxQbimiarA5KCvDKO9Ds0t8E/pub?start=false&loop=false&delayms=5000&slide=id.p

Mrs. Mandru's MATH: We have officially begun unit 1! We took a pretest and will be diving deeper with addition facts and stories.

Social Science: We have begun our directions unit by learning about the cardinal and intermediate directions and making compass roses. We will have a directions quiz on Friday, September 9. This will be graded. A study guide went home on Friday, 9-2.

Reading/ELA: We will continue our focus on Folk tales this week, reading "Rumpelstiltskin". We are also continuing our writer's workshop. Today the students wrote about "What their twins did overnight".

Spelling:  Students will receive their “word sorts” on Tuesday.  Homework will also be assigned on Tuesday and will be due on or before Friday, 9/16.  A letter will be included describing what is expected from our students.
