Week of March 6-10

Week of 3/6/17 - 3/10/17

A note from the 3rd grade teachers:

Dear 3rd Grade Prairieview Families,

We wanted to send a reminder home about chromebook expectations as around this time of year a refresher can be helpful.  In school, the students only use their chromebook as an instructional tool to enhance their education.  They use applications such as Google Classroom (and the links uploaded within) and Google Drive for activities/projects as well as learning websites (Lexia, Raz-Kids, Splashmath, Prodigy, and Xtra-Math) for Core Reinforcement.  There is also a site called “Symbaloo” that has many more educational and approved “apps” the students can spend their time enjoying at home.  Though we understand that regulating chromebook time/sites at home is a parent/guardian responsibility, we would encourage you to monitor what games/sites are being viewed at home so that they are educational in nature or school/age appropriate.  There are some games out there that are intriguing for 3rd graders but inappropriate and are not permitted be accessed on the school issued chromebooks.  If they do not fall into one of the categories underlined above, they are not sanctioned by the third grade teachers.  Thank you in advance for your support at home with ensuring that these engaging tools are used for their intended reason only - so that “Learning Never Stops”.

The Third Grade Team

Coming up Next Week:
Spelling:  The Menu homework is due on or before Friday.  There will also be a test on that day.

March reading logs have gone home.  They will be due after Spring Break.
