On Tuesday, we will have people from a local dentist
office, come speak to the students about healthy ways to take care of their
teeth.
Valentine’s Day is on Thursday! Our class party starts at
1:30. If your child is bringing in Valentine’s, PLEASE make sure they are not
addressed to the students. They can just write their name in the from section.
We have 25 students in the class.
Thank you for donating to the treasure chest!
We have filled our treasure chest goodies!
Math:
We have
started chapter 21-metric measurement. We will not have a chapter test, but
rather a quiz over the material on Tuesday 2/12. There is a study
guide in their Math folder of things to review. Next week will also be our
final week of multiplication tests before we start division facts. The final
multiplication test will be cumulative. That will be on Friday, 2-15.
Reading:
We
have finished reading Seal Surfer unit. We will spend next week continuing with
prefix/suffixes, but mainly focus on suffixes. We will also be working in our ISAT
coach books to prepare for ISAT’s.
Spelling:
No spelling this week, due to prefix/suffix.
English:
We are
finally finished with verbs! That was a long unit! We will be taking a break
from our textbooks and starting autobiographies. This will be about a week and
a half long. The students will be writing an essay about themselves. We will start
by working on each individual paragraph, then we will write the rough draft,
and then finally the final draft. Please have a discussion this weekend about
the day they were born, the city and hospital they were born, and maybe some
details on their life from newborn to about 5.
Social
Studies:
We will be
testing on Chapter 3 culture on Tuesday, 2-12. Each person should
have their textbooks at home. We made a study guide out of their notes and quizzes
from this chapter. The textbook can come back to school on Tuesday. This was a
favorite Social Studies lesson for the students and me! I got to learn so much
about each child!
Science:
We took a
break from Science due to culture day, so this week we will continue with
lesson 3.
Have a wonderful weekend!
