We
have a lot going on this week...
Monday
we will have a presentation at 9:30 about President Lincoln.
Tuesday
will be the district Spelling Bee at 10:00.
Culture
day will begin on Tuesday and continue through Friday.
Thank
you for donating to the treasure chest! We have filled our treasure
chest goodies!
Math:
We
are done with chapter 6 data. We will start Chapter 20-US customary
units. We will also be working on times 6, 7, and 8 this week. The
times test will be on Friday.
Reading:
We
have finished our books buddies reading and project. They have turned
out great. Next week we will start the story Seal Surfer in our
textbook. There
will be a vocabulary quiz on Thursday, Feb. 7, over the words.
Spelling:
We
will be taking a break from Spelling and working on a unit of
prefixes and suffixes. This will continue for a few weeks, so there
will not be Spelling homework or a test. There will be other sorts of
homework.
English:
We
will be finishing up our verbs unit this week. The
unit test will be on Friday, Feb. 8.
Please be reviewing at home there are 12 lessons that the students
will be tested on. Pages 90-140 in the textbook will be great review.
Social
Studies:
We
will continue working on chapter 3-Culture. The culture day
presentations start Tuesday. It is a good idea for the students to
have note cards to use the day they have their presentations. They
will be graded on both their oral part of the presentation as well as
the poster/other extra items.
Science:
We
will continue chapter 14-heat, light, and sound.
Have
a wonderful weekend!
