Week of February 18-22

We had a fantastic Valentine’s Day Party! Thank you to everyone who helped make this day run so smoothly!

I am sure I don’t have to remind everyone, but there is no school on Monday, due to President’s Day.

Spring Picture Day is On Thursday.

Thank you for donating to the treasure chest! We have filled our treasure chest goodies!

Math:
We have completed chapter 21. Because we are quickly approaching ISAT’s, we will be taking a break from our textbook and using other resources to prepare for ISAT testing. We also have completed our multiplication tests. This week we will start on division. Please continue to review multiplication and division facts with your child.

Reading:

This week will be finishing up with suffixes and prefixes. There will be a test on prefix/suffix on Friday, 2-22. In honor of Black history month, the students will be checking out a biography on a famous African American. Then they will be using their skills of summarizing to make a “snapshot” book of their person life.

Spelling:
No spelling this week, due to prefix/suffix

English:
The students will continue their autobiographies this week. The students have been writing an essay about themselves. This week we will write the rough drafts and type the final copies.

Social Studies:
We will begin our CHICAGO unit this week! This is a very fun and interactive unit for the students.

Science:
This week we will finish Chapter 14 lesson 4. The test on Chapter 14 will be on Wednesday 2/27-13
Have a wonderful 3 day weekend!
